About

Critical Flow Systems Ltd

John Corris, one of the first qualified MCERTS inspectors in the UK, set up Critical Flow Systems Ltd in 1996. The company was originally founded to conduct quality inspections for MCERTS and to provide expert flow measurement advice to water utility companies, to ensure they complied with the Environment Agency Flow Policy.

Over the years the company has steadily grown and now works with almost half the country’s water utility companies serving approximately 30 million customers. In addition, CFS has a wide range of non-water utility clients in the power generation, waste and landfill, manufacturing, food production and aggregate sectors.

During this time, our Inspectors have been involved with many of the advancements in flow measurement, including the development of the MCERTS scheme and writing flow software.

With a wealth of experience and specialists across the whole team, the company has developed a range of services and products that support and resolve the requirements of MCERT certification for their customers.

With an unremitting emphasis on quality, CFS continues to grow and recruit new members to its inspection team and now employs 7 fully qualified inspectors, the largest team in the country. Ongoing, rigorous training, designing and adopting new methodologies and developing areas of specialism and interest, ensures that the team has a broad base of expertise and is at the forefront of new developments in flow measurement.
