John Corris

Founder and Consultant MCERTS Inspector

John was the first MCERTS Inspector to undergo the formal assessment procedure and has been a key member in developing the MCERTS scheme with the Environment Agency.

He founded the company in 1996 and has also co-authored the policy on Closed Pipe Meters.

More recently, John has been working with United Utilities and Severn Trent Water to develop specialist flow calculations for a range of compound weirs and H flumes.

Chris Corris

Managing Director and Senior MCERTS Inspector

Chris joined the company in 1999. He wrote and developed early versions of flow software, which is still the base of today’s Mflow software used by CFS.

Chris became an MCERTS Inspector in 2005. Sitting on the MCERTS steering group, working with the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and the Water Utilities he is involved with continually improving the scheme.

He works closely with Severn Trent and Thames Water to meet their MCERTS requirements and has worked with several power generation companies to develop a ‘Pump Run Time’ method to report their flow data.

Peter Brookbank

Project Manager and Quality Standards Manager

Since retiring from Grontmij (Project Consultants), where he ran several large works flow projects, Peter has joined CFS to become our Project Manager.

In addition, Peter runs all the Quality Management Procedures and Health and Safety compliance for the company.

Under Peter’s guidance we have achieved ISO 9001,ISO 14001, CHAS and Achilles.

Tamas Borondi

MCERTS Inspector and Quality Standards

Tamas graduated from Budapest University of Technology and has a Masters qualification in Quality Standards. He qualified as an MCERTS Inspector in 2018.

Instrumental in achieving ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates for the company, he continues to be involved in all aspects of quality standards and compliance.

Recently, Tamas oversaw the UKAS calibration of our test rig flow meter, this enables us to calibrate all of our equipment to National Standards.

Lucy French

MCERTS Inspector

Joining the company straight from university, Lucy is one of our newest MCERTS Inspectors, qualifying in 2018.

Lucy now leads MCERTS audits, particularly for our re-certification customers and oversees the MCERTS program for Severn Trent Water (managing over 570 sites).

Lucy has IOSH qualifications, is trained first aider and helps develop our risk assessment procedures.

Marcus Harding

Senior MCERTS Inspector

Marcus joined the team in 2003, having gained a wealth of experience working for Wessex Water for 15 years. Marcus became an MCERTS inspector shortly after joining us in 2005.

Marcus continues to work closely with Wessex Water and other non-water utilities in the South West region.

An early champion of the Panametrics flow meter, Marcus is also an expert in the operation of clamp on ultrasonic flow meters.

Aaron Hiden

Senior MCERTS Inspector

Aaron has over ten years experience in working with Flow Monitoring and MCERTS certification and became a qualified MCERTS inspector in 2011.

He works throughout the sector and has run several large projects in clean water network compliance, flow4 and Event Duration (Storm) Monitoring.  

Recently, Aaron worked on the UKWIR Research Project, developing flow models which demonstrate flow to treatment for Flow4 compliance.

Phil Rose

Senior MCERTS Inspector

Phil joined CFS straight from University in 2008 as a trainee MCERTS Inspector, becoming fully qualified in 2011.

Phil works closely with teams in Dwr Cymru (Welsh Water) to meet their MCERTS compliance.

Phil is trained as a Principal Designer to aid compliance with the CDM regulations, and in addition to managing the MCERTS certification program, has designed and overseen the installation of many complex civil projects.

Alex Storrer

Trainee MCERTS Inspector

Alex initially joined us to assist on site, and having quickly shown a real aptitude for flow measurement he has moved on to our training program to become an MCERTS Inspector.

Alex works throughout all sectors with a view to gaining as much experience as possible. 

Mihai Both

Trainee MCERTS Inspector

Mihai joined our MCERTS Trainee Inspectors programme in 2018 and has really enjoyed the early stages of this 5 year programme.

Mihai has particularly enjoyed developing his engineering drawing and CAD skills.

Kate Davies

Trainee MCERTS Inspector

As part of the company’s drive to expand and train more MCERTS Inspectors, Kate joined the CFS team in 2019.

With our broad client base, Kate is receiving a wide range of experiences as part of her training programme.

Elizabeth Stuart

Business Manager

Elizabeth joined CFS to run our accounts and quickly moved on to planning, scheduling and business development.

Elizabeth has introduced a number of internal processes and software that has streamlined our services and boosted productivity.

Elizabeth is a champion of great customer service, she ensures all business enquiries are dealt with directly and efficiently or swiftly passed on to one of our expert engineers
